Pride Month, observed each year in June, is a time to support colleagues in the LGBTQ+ community, honor the progress made and recognize the challenges yet to be overcome. Celebrations were held across the country, whether among friends, local communities or in the workplace.
LMA members at Holland & Knight celebrated by hosting a diversity week and accompanying social media campaign called #BeAnAlly. Staff and attorneys took personal pledges on ways in which they would educate themselves to become better allies to diversity. A photo booth was set up to document the pledges, which were then shared on social media.
In addition to spreading the word on social, a partner at Holland & Knight hosted a roundtable discussion on how to better be an ally to diversity, and the group watched a documentary on the Stonewall riots. The firm found this to be such a moving experience that they plan to observe diversity week again next year.
