Try a Pod: 7 Legal Podcasts You Should Be Listening To

Try a Pod - Strategies Plus.jpgLed by an NPR campaign, the month of March has seen leading podcast publishers join forces to expand the podcast audience by encouraging listeners everywhere to "Try a Pod." Additionally, the hashtag #trypod is being used across social media in support of the movement. We are getting in on the action and sharing our favorite legal podcast resources, so, without further ado, we present our list of seven (or eight...) legal podcasts you should be listening to.

1. Bloomberg Law

Bloomberg Law podcast episodes feature hosts June Grasso, Michael Best and Greg Stohr as they speak with prominent attorneys and legal scholars, analyzing major legal issues and cases in the news. The show also examines all aspects of the legal profession, from intellectual property to criminal law, drawing on the deep research tools of and Reporters from Bloomberg's Washington, D.C. bureau are prominently featured as they offer analysis of policy and legal issues. 2. National Law Review

With its podcast, The National Law Review shares its original thought leadership in the form of interviews and hot topic retrospectives. Discover the latest on SoundCloud.

3. Anything from Legal Talk Network

With shows like Lawyer 2 Lawyer, Lawyerist, ABA Law Student, Thinking Like a Lawyer, and more, Legal Talk Network is a leader in bringing great content to your ears. Check out everything Legal Talk Network has to offer.

4. Mastering Law Practice

Mastering Law Practice is hosted by attorney Thom Goolsby and offers practical, easy to use advice on law practice management, law firm marketing, rainmaking and the attorney lifestyle. Subscribe on SoundCloud.

5. LST Radio's I Am The Law and Women in the Law

I Am The Law uses informational interviews with new and seasoned law school graduates to convey what the practice of law is really like. The goal is to shed a little light on real jobs and help listeners make better law school choices, improve the job search process, and (ultimately) increase job satisfaction.

Women in the Law is a 6-week podcast mini-series that focused on advancing the conversation on the many challenges, both professional and personal, that women continue to face as members of the legal profession, through first-person narratives.

6. This Week in Law

Join legal blogger and trained attorney Denise Howell along with J. Michael Keyes and Emory Roane as they discuss breaking issues in technology law, including patents, copyrights and more. The podcast records live on Fridays at 2:00 p.m. Eastern/11:00 a.m. Pacific/18:00 UTC. Learn more and subscribe.

7. Law Practice

The ABA Law Practice Division (LP) will occasionally produce an extension of its Law Practice magazine and Law Practice Today digital publication in podcast form. Subscribe to the feed on SoundCloud to be updated when they post future content.

Bonus: LMA Podcast

We would kick ourselves if, in a blog dedicated entirely to podcasts, we failed to mention our own. The LMA Podcast covers topics related to legal marketing and the business of law, with two series running concurrently through June that focus on the upcoming P3 Conference and LMA's Body of Knowledge (BoK).
